The Generation Connect Young Leadership Programme is an international fellowship designed to empower young digital leaders and changemakers from around the world. The program is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in partnership with Huawei. It targets young individuals who have innovative ideas or projects that use digital technologies to improve communities and advance digital development. Each year, the program selects 30 young fellows globally and supports them in implementing innovative digital projects aimed at creating positive social impact. Participants receive training, mentorship, and financial support to develop and implement their technology-based initiatives that contribute to digital transformation and community development.
- Applicants must be between 18 and 28 years old.
- Applicants should be currently enrolled in higher education or be recent graduates in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or related disciplines.
- Applicants must have a digital project idea that aims to create a positive impact in their community.
- Ability to communicate and participate in English.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and motivation to create social change through technology.
- Willingness to actively participate in all virtual and in-person program activities.
- Initial grant of USD 5,000 to support the implementation of the digital project.
- Opportunity to receive an additional USD 5,000 for the most impactful projects (up to USD 10,000 total).
