The BPC 2026 Fellowship Training Programme provides a funded training opportunity for candidates from developing countries to enhance their scientific and practical skills in the exploration of deep-sea mineral resources. The programme is organized by Beijing Pioneer Hi-tech Development Corporation Ltd in cooperation with academic and research institutions in China. The training combines theoretical courses, practical training, and specialized lectures to strengthen participants’ knowledge in ocean science, marine geology, marine engineering technologies, and policies and legal frameworks related to ocean governance.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be nationals of developing countries.

 • Applicants must be under 45 years old.

 • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following fields:

 • Marine geology

 • Marine geophysics

 • Marine environment (including marine biology or ecology)

 • Marine technology or marine equipment

 • Relevant professional or practical experience in a related field.

 • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

 • Good health and ability to provide a medical certificate if selected.

 • Basic research or administrative skills.

 • Employees of companies that hold contracts with the International Seabed Authority are not eligible to apply.
