The Global Citizen Scholarship Program 2026 is a virtual scholarship organized by the Ban Ki-moon Foundation. It aims to empower ambitious young changemakers who are passionate about advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The program targets individuals with actionable ideas and local community projects. Participants will design and implement a local changemaker project, receive expert-led training and workshops on sustainable development, benefit from peer-to-peer mentoring, and engage with a professional global network.

The program also includes the opportunity to attend a Summer School at the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI).


Details
  • Duration: Approximately 8–9 months starting in April 2026.
  • Location: Virtual program + Summer School at MCI University.
  • Funding: Full coverage of the two-week Summer School, expert training and workshops, mentoring, and seed funding of €500 upon successful submission of the project.
  • Fees: Free of charge. No application or participation fees.
  • Application Process: Online application form including personal information, education details, changemaker project proposal, motivation statement, CV, and a short introduction video.
  • Language Requirements: English proficiency (minimum B2 level).
Eligibility Criteria
  • Must be a citizen of one of the eligible countries listed.
  • Aged between 20 and 35 years at the time of application.
  • Must hold at least a Master’s degree (in some cases, first-year Master’s students may be accepted).
  • Strong commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and social impact initiatives.
  • Proficiency in English.
