The 2026 Climate Resilience Awards for Business is an initiative that recognizes businesses and organizations implementing practical solutions to build resilience against climate change and adapt to its impacts. The competition focuses on projects that can demonstrate tangible and measurable results rather than ideas that are still at the conceptual stage. Businesses can apply with projects addressing areas such as infrastructure, water management, agriculture and food systems, and the protection of people and communities. The awards aim to showcase successful approaches, increase the visibility of participating organizations, and encourage investment and scaling of effective climate resilience solutions around the world.

Organizers: World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), in partnership with the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP).

Location: Worldwide; organizations from any geographical location can apply.
Target applicants: Businesses and organizations of all sizes and sectors.
Eligible types of applicants: Implementers of resilience and adaptation projects and providers of climate resilience solutions.
Eligible project stages: Projects do not have to be fully completed. Pilot, scaling, or operational projects may be considered, provided they demonstrate actual implementation and initial evidence of impact.
Competition categories:

Building climate-resilient infrastructure.
Advancing water stewardship.
Safeguarding agriculture and food systems.
Putting people first.

Multiple applications: An organization may submit more than one project, provided each application concerns a different project or initiative.
Category submissions: The same project cannot be submitted to more than one category, although applicants may identify a preferred secondary category. The organizers may recategorize a project where appropriate.
Application fee: No application fee; participation is free.
Evaluation process: Applications first undergo an eligibility screening, followed by an assessment of case studies based on impact, credibility, and potential. Outstanding projects proceed to an independent expert judging panel.
Supporting evidence: Applicants may provide evidence such as impact reports, monitoring data, independent evaluations, dashboards, implementation plans, photographs, videos, customer testimonials, website links, certifications, and media coverage.
Supporting documents: 2–5 supporting documents.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must be a business organization.
Businesses and organizations of all sizes may apply.
Organizations from all sectors may apply.
There are no geographical restrictions; organizations from around the world are eligible.
Applicants may be implementers of climate resilience or adaptation projects that improve the resilience of their operations, assets, employees, or infrastructure to climate change.
Applicants may also be providers of climate resilience solutions, including products, services, technologies, financing, or advisory services that help customers or beneficiaries address climate change.
Solution providers are encouraged to provide information demonstrating project implementation and impact from the perspective of the customer or beneficiary.
Small and medium-sized businesses compete separately from large and multinational companies within each award category.
The project must have progressed beyond the idea or concept stage and must have actual implementation and initial evidence of impact.
The project should clearly demonstrate the climate challenge being addressed.
The application should explain the solution that has been implemented.
Applicants should demonstrate what changed as a result of the project and how the impact was measured.
Projects should address climate-related risks, adaptation to changing climate conditions, or long-term transformation toward greater resilience.
Projects do not have to be fully completed; pilot, scaling, or operational projects may be eligible if they have been implemented and have initial evidence of results.
No specific age, academic qualification, or individual professional experience requirements are stated, as the competition is intended for organizations and businesses rather than individuals.
