The Oxford Climate Leadership Research Centre aims to build an international community of influential leaders in politics, business, and sport, and to help them use their influence, networks, and leadership capabilities to promote climate action and address climate change.

The programme focuses on individuals who hold leadership positions, have public influence, and have the ability to influence others. Members participate in leadership development, training, communication, research, and networking activities with other leaders, researchers, and climate professionals.

Target sectors: Politics, business, and sport.

Location: Worldwide, with most activities conducted online.

Training: Opportunities to participate in programmes focused on developing climate leadership skills.

Group coaching: Opportunity to participate in a six-session group coaching programme.

Communication: Workshops on effective climate change communication.

Research: Early access to selected research, data, and analysis produced by the Centre.

Research participation: Members may be invited to participate in surveys, interviews, focus groups, and feedback sessions.

Activities: Conferences, discussions, workshops, networking events, and research activities.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants are expected to demonstrate:

  • Significant leadership experience or a leadership position in politics, business, or sport.
  • The ability to influence others through their position, reputation, or networks.
  • A clear interest in climate change, sustainability, or environmental issues.
  • A willingness to learn and share experiences with other leaders.
  • An openness to reflecting on the role of leadership in addressing climate change.
  • The ability to influence organisations, communities, or the wider public.
