The Chemicals and Waste Youth Platform (CWYP) invites youth-led and youth-serving organizations and networks to join the Preparatory Group for youth events at the First International Conference of the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC IC-1), which will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, in November 2026. The Preparatory Group will support the design, strategic direction, and organization of the Youth Forum on Chemicals and Waste and other related youth activities. Participants will help create a youth-led space for dialogue, capacity building, policy discussions, networking, and collaboration between different generations. Members will contribute to planning youth activities, supporting global youth engagement, and highlighting youth innovations and initiatives related to chemicals management, waste, and pollution prevention.

  • Agreement to follow the Preparatory Team’s Terms of Reference (TOR).
  • Support the objectives of meaningful and collective youth engagement in the Global Framework on Chemicals.
  • Demonstrated work or experience related to:
  • Chemicals.
  • Waste management.
  • Pollution-related environmental issues.
  • Preference will be given to organizations with experience in international or regional chemicals and waste policy processes, including:
  • Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM).
  • Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC).
  • Demonstrated outreach capacity, impact, or connections with large youth populations and youth movements.
  • Ability to contribute unique perspectives, expertise, skills, or underrepresented experiences relevant to the GFC.
  • Commitment to maintaining the integrity, independence, and values of the Youth Events Preparatory Group.
  • Non-youth-led organizations are not eligible to join the Preparatory Group but may participate as partners, speakers, mentors, sponsors, or contributors.
