The Gender Just Climate Solutions Awards is an international initiative organized by the Women and Gender Constituency (WGC) in collaboration with Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF). The awards aim to recognize and showcase innovative initiatives that address climate change while advancing gender equality and women's rights.

The competition targets organizations and community-based initiatives that implement practical and sustainable solutions for climate change mitigation or adaptation while ensuring the meaningful participation of women and marginalized groups in decision-making and implementation processes. The awards also provide an international platform to highlight successful projects, facilitate knowledge exchange, and strengthen opportunities for global collaboration.

  • Organized by the Women and Gender Constituency (WGC) in partnership with Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF).
  • Supported by the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) and the European Union through the WomenPower2030 Program.
  • The 2026 edition marks the 11th anniversary of the awards.
  • Applications are free of charge.
  • Three winners will be selected, one in each of the following categories:
  • Technical Climate Solutions.
  • Non-Technical Climate Solutions.
  • Transformative Climate Initiatives.
  • The award ceremony will take place during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31) in Antalya, Türkiye, in November 2026.
  • Results will be announced in October 2026.
  • Applications must be submitted through the official online application platform.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Applicants must be civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, community-based initiatives, cooperatives, or social enterprises.
  • The project or initiative must have been implemented and operating for at least one year.
  • The project must demonstrate a clear impact in the field of climate action.
  • The initiative must integrate gender equality and women's empowerment into its objectives, activities, and outcomes.
  • The project must contribute to social and environmental justice.
  • Applications may come from women-led or mixed-gender organizations, provided that a clear gender-just approach is demonstrated.
  • National, regional, and local government entities are not eligible to apply.
  • The project must fit within one of the three award categories.
  • The initiative should have the potential for replication, scaling, or adaptation in other communities.
Opportunity Benefits
  • A cash prize of €5,000 for each winning project.
  • Travel costs covered for one representative from each winning project to attend COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye.
  • Accommodation expenses related to attending the awards ceremony.
