The Accelerator Fellowship Programme is a pioneering initiative of the Institute for Ethics in AI at the University of Oxford. The programme is designed to support professionals and academics working on projects that address pressing ethical challenges related to artificial intelligence. It focuses on projects that are already well developed and capable of generating meaningful impact beyond academia. Fellows are expected to contribute to the responsible and ethical development of AI through work in areas such as policy and governance, industry innovation, professional development, public engagement, and cross-sector collaboration.

Eligibility Criteria
- For applicants with a PhD:
- Must hold a PhD.
- Must provide evidence of at least two peer-reviewed publications.
- Must demonstrate a growing research profile.
- Must have secured at least one research grant as a Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Investigator (Co-I).
- For applicants without a PhD:
- Must have at least 7 years of professional experience in a relevant specialised field.
- Must demonstrate advanced expertise.
- Must provide evidence of original contributions to their field.
- Must demonstrate professional or peer recognition.
- Must show evidence of significant impact in their area of work.
- General requirements for all applicants:
- The proposed project must align with the mission of the Accelerator Fellowship Programme.
- The project must align with at least one research priority of the Institute for Ethics in AI.
- Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency.
- The project must already be in development and not be at the idea or proof-of-concept stage.
- Applicants must present a clear roadmap for implementation and impact.
- The project must demonstrate the potential for meaningful impact beyond academia.
