Description
The Japan Internship Program (JIP) is a government-supported initiative designed to provide highly skilled young professionals and students from developing countries with practical work experience in Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The program aims to support the internationalization of Japanese companies, strengthen international business cooperation, and foster professional and academic networks between Japan and participating countries. Interns gain hands-on experience in a Japanese work environment while developing professional, intercultural, and language skills.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a citizen of an OECD/DAC-listed country (excluding China).
- Must reside outside Japan at the time of application.
- Must support the objectives of the program and be willing to contribute to the internationalization of Japanese companies.
- Must be between 18 and 39 years old as of 24 August 2026.
- Must be a final-year university student or a university graduate (undergraduate or postgraduate).
- Must hold a university degree or equivalent qualification.
- Must have sufficient English proficiency or Japanese language ability (at least JLPT N3 or CEFR B1 level).
- Current students must provide a certificate of enrollment and a recommendation letter from their university or faculty member.
- Graduates must provide a graduation certificate and a recommendation letter from a faculty member or affiliated institution.
- Must be able to submit all required certificates and supporting documents.
- Must be able to fully participate in all training and internship activities.
- Must have an interest in pursuing employment opportunities in Japan.
- Must not have participated in the program between FY2016 and FY2025.
