IHE Delft Institute for Water Education in the Netherlands offers scholarships under the Water and Development Partnership Programme funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The programme aims to strengthen the capacities of water professionals and build networks of experts across the Sahel, Middle East, and Horn of Africa regions.
The scholarship targets students and professionals interested in pursuing the MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development, focusing on water management, sustainability, climate change, and environmental development. Participants are expected to conduct their research in their home countries or regions in collaboration with programme-supported projects and engage in seminars and scientific networking activities related to the water sector.
- Applicants must obtain academic admission to the MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development.
- Applicants must live or work in one of the eligible countries.
- Candidates should commit to conducting their master’s research in their home country or region in collaboration with programme-related projects.
- Active participation in programme seminars and networks is required.
- Applicants must demonstrate willingness to return to their home country or another priority country after graduation.
- Strong preference is given to female applicants.
- Applicants with strong academic backgrounds and relevant professional experience are preferred.
- Applicants must answer motivation questions in the online application form.
- A recommendation letter from the current employer is required, explaining how the organisation will benefit from the applicant’s studies and confirming support for the applicant’s return after graduation.
