Description
A fully funded PhD programme within a research project under the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship at King’s College London. The project focuses on studying justice in critical mineral supply chains related to the global energy transition toward carbon neutrality. The programme aims to understand the impacts of extracting minerals such as lithium and cobalt on local communities, particularly in producing countries, and how benefits and harms are distributed fairly.The research addresses issues of environmental, social, and governance justice, with a focus on the lived experiences of communities affected by mining activities, using qualitative and community-based research methods.

Eligibility Criteria
- A Master’s degree in one of the following fields or an equivalent discipline:
- International Relations
- Political Science
- Geography
- Development Studies
- Sociology
- Anthropology
- Law
- Environmental Studies
- A clear interest in environmental justice, governance, energy, or mining
- Ability or willingness to use qualitative or ethnographic research methods
- Experience or familiarity with field research (an advantage)
- Strong skills in qualitative data analysis or use of software such as NVivo or Atlas.ti (a strong advantage)
