  • The Refugee Fellows Program is a one-year global virtual fellowship designed to support and empower refugee and forcibly displaced leaders working in advocacy and humanitarian issues.

Duration: August 1, 2026 – July 30, 2027 (1 year)

Location: Fully remote (virtual program)

Funding: USD 15,000 stipend paid in 4 installments

Time commitment: 7 hours per week

Application process includes:

  • Online application form
  • Two essay questions (400 words each)
  • CV submission
  • Three professional references
  • Fellowship work plan

Interview period: May – July 2026

Program components:

  • Training in advocacy, communications, and fundraising
  • Professional networking opportunities

Requirements during the fellowship:

  • Attend regular meetings
  • Publish at least one piece (article, report, or research)
  • Possible participation in research trips or global events

Technical requirement: Reliable internet + computer

Language: English proficiency preferred

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a refugee or forcibly displaced person (lived experience required)

Active in advocacy, community work, or humanitarian fields

Demonstrated leadership potential

Ability to commit for the full fellowship duration

Must not be employed by:

  • Governments
  • UN agencies
  • Large international NGOs

Must have a bank account to receive the stipend

Ability to work remotely
