Climate Action Network (CAN) is offering a consultancy opportunity to conduct research on large-scale renewable energy projects, with a focus on their impacts on local communities in the Global South (Africa, Asia, and Latin America). This role aims to support the development of the annual renewable energy report, which is used in advocacy efforts to promote a just and equitable transition to 100% renewable energy systems. The consultant will collect data by engaging with local communities and organizations, conducting interviews and surveys, and analyzing information to be included in the annual report.

  • Duration: 8 weeks
  • Location: Remote
  • Working hours: 25 hours per week with flexible arrangements
  • Compensation: €3000 for the entire period
  • Expected start date: May 18, 2026

Eligibility Criteria
  • Degree in environmental studies, energy policy, social sciences, sustainability, climate justice, or a related field
  • Experience in qualitative data collection (interviews, surveys, stakeholder consultations)
  • Ability to engage with local stakeholders and conduct outreach
  • Proficiency in English
  • Strong communication skills عبر email, digital platforms, and online calls
  • Knowledge of renewable energy projects or community engagement in energy transition is an asset
  • Strong organizational and data analysis skills
